By unlocking your OnePlus 7 bootloader
OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro smartphone are quite easy to root if you know how to unlock the bootloader on it. By unlocking the bootloader, you can easily root your OnePlus 7 smartphone. To do the same, follow the steps listed below:
  • At first, go to Settings on your OnePlus 7 smartphone.
  • Now, choose the About Phone option which is usually available at the bottom of the list.
  • Now tap on Build Number 7 times to unlock Developer Mode.
  • Next, inside Developer options, turn on the switch for OEM unlock.
  • After that, connect your OnePlus 7 device with your PC via a data cable.
  • After connecting properly, run the ADB terminal on your PC by pressing and holding Shift + right-click inside the ADB folder and choose Open a command windows here option.
  • Now, type adb devices inside the ADB terminal.
  • Click on Agree to pair your OnePlus 7 device with your PC.
  • Now, type adb reboot bootloader in the next ADB terminal.
  • To reboot your OnePlus device into the fastest mode, type ‘fastboot oem unlock’ in the ADB terminal.
  • Your OnePlus 7 device will start the factory reset after typing in the command in the previous step.
By installing TWRP on your OnePlus 7 
It is another method available to you if you want to root your OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro device. Installing TWRP on your OnePlus 7 device allows you to root your smartphone in no time.
  • At first, hold the Power button to summon reboot options and select bootloader from the options.
  • Now copy the TWRP file into your main ADB folder.
  • Now, run a new ADB terminal.
  • Type ‘adb devices’ in it to pair up your device.
  • After that, type ‘fastest boot twrp-xxxxxxx.img’ in the ADB terminal.
  • Once you enter the command, the device will start reboot with TWRP recovery.
  • After that, Go to Advanced and then ADB Sideload.
  • Now, in the ADB terminal on your PC, type ‘adb sideload twrp-installer – xxxxxxx.zip’
  • After that, wait until the process of TWRP finishes on the screen.
  • Now, if you are okay with TWRP, then initiate, reboot, and you are good to go.
